Project overview
Open PDF Converter brings common PDF conversion and editing tasks into a single browser application. Documents stay on the user’s device while client-side libraries handle rendering, extraction, OCR, office exports, page operations, and PDF generation.
What I built
- 01
Implemented PDF-to-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, image, and text exports alongside image-to-PDF and HTML-to-PDF tools.
- 02
Added OCR for images and scanned documents using Tesseract.js, including searchable text-layer output.
- 03
Built page-management tools for merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, reordering, deleting, extracting, and cropping pages.
- 04
Added document utilities for watermarks, metadata, form filling, signatures, redaction overlays, headers, footers, and page numbers.
Implementation notes
Processing is client-side, so files do not need to leave the browser for routine conversion or editing work.
Automated checks and GitHub Pages deployment are defined in the repository’s GitHub Actions workflows.
